Naming 'The Wolf Stage'

On Sunday, October 15th, 2017, All Newton Music School unveiled The Wolf Stage to the public at a concert and dedication ceremony honoring the late Andrew Wolf, ANMS Executive Director from 1977-1985. The naming of The Wolf Stage and Donor's Garden symbolizes Andrew Wolf's passion for music and will be enjoyed by generations of future musicians carrying on his philosophy of 'Music for All.'

It seems so very fitting to be recognizing Andy’s influence on All Newton Music School by naming our new outdoor performance space, “The Wolf Stage.”

In the eight years he served as director, he was driven by his desire to create a bustling, energetic and inviting place to share music.

An amazing musician and pianist, Andy traveled the world performing with many famous musicians. Nevertheless, listening to our students play humbled him.

Whether a beginner or an accomplished performer, he reveled in their successes. His pride in the school was contagious. It spread through the faculty, boards, and families. Andy’s years at ANMS helped him understand the power and importance of music in peoples’ lives. ANMS is a unique institution, a place where everyone is welcome and encouraged to find their personal musical journey.

Andy Wolf was the architect of this philosophy. For decades to come, students will perform on the “Wolf Stage” fulfilling their personal dreams.

Donors will reflect in their garden remembering what the school has meant to so many. Each year new people will join the ANMS family, never having had the privilege of knowing Andy, but reaping the benefits of his spirit and drive to make music available for everyone.
