Early Childhood Music Faculty

All Newton Music School (ANMS) offers an exciting opportunity for an Early Childhood music instructor to build a new early childhood music curriculum at one of the oldest community music schools in the United States. ANMS seeks to develop a program that serves as a springboard for young families journey in music.

Responsibilities include developing and administering the new early childhood curriculum for birth to age 5, managing the program in coordination with the existing programs and administrative/teaching staff, and serving as an advocate for the early childhood program at ANMS by developing relationships within our organization and with others in Newton. Teaching responsibilities include leading group classes twice a week at our school located in West Newton.



  • The ideal candidate has experience and/or related training in teaching group general music and movement classes to parents and their children ages birth- 5 years. 

  • Ability to teach songs and sing with the class

  • Knowledge of hand drumming, simple percussion, and xylophone

  • Dynamic and friendly teaching style

  • Interest in designing a creative and engaging curriculum, in partnership with the Executive Director

  • Organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are essential

  • A desire to lead and develop an outstanding program with enthusiasm is expected

$2,400 stipend per semester
