Her 2006-2007 season opened in appearances with the Chicago Sinfonietta and a return to Carnegie Hall as a guest soloist on the Sphinx 10th Anniversary Gala Concert.

In addition to her frequent solo appearances, Ms. White is also an active chamber musician. White has already begun her recording career. At the age of 14, she made her debut with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra and internationally-acclaimed Paul Freeman. Her recording of "An American Concerto" by Gwenyth Walker on Albany Records is now in record stores worldwide.

Along with Melissa White's concert activity, in the summer she serves on the faculty of the Sphinx Performance Academy on Walnut Hill's high school campus. She coaches chamber groups, conducts master classes, and gives private instruction to minority musicians. An important part of Ms. White's career is sharing her music with young audiences and inner city school children. She does outreach around the country when she travels to perform with major symphonies. This school year she will do extensive work with the Reading, Pennsylvania public school system and community music programs and finish the year by soloing with the Reading Youth Symphony.
