About the Program

Students enrolled in private lessons who wish to pursue an in-depth study of music are encouraged to enroll in this program. Certificates and awards are presented to students when they have completed the Program requirements. For details and to determine your placement (8 levels available), please speak to your teacher and request an application in ANMS Office. ($25 enrollment fee) The Certificate Program is designed to fit all levels of dedicated students. Awards are presented at "Music in May", Saturday, May 30, 2009!

One Student's Experience

Hannah Saltman, Viola, has been at ANMS for seven years, and in the certificate program for four. Having moved from Bronze II to Silver III, Hannah has many accomplishments, including holding positions in the New England Conservatory's Youth Symphonic Orchestra and NEC's Youth Repertory Orchestra.

As a 15 year old sophomore at Brookline High School, Hannah is involved with many activities including cross country, but still finds time for her viola and Mahler, her favorite composer. Viola wasn't her first instrument...she switched from violin a few years ago, and hasn't looked back. Hannah studies under Michele Parker, ANMS String Coordinator. With her guidance, and the experience she has gained from the certificate program, Hannah has mastered the Hoffmeister Viola Concerto.

Hannah practices and performs on ANMS' Douglas Cox Viola. We are proud to recognize her musicality and sense of responsibly. BRAVO HANNAH!!!!!
