Kathleen O’Donnell holds degrees from Boston University and the New England Conservatory of Music. She studied with John Wummer, James Pappoutsakis, and John Heiss. From 1978-81 she lived in Brazil where she was a member of the Orquestra Sinfonica Estadual do Sao Paulo. Kathleen joined the Boston Symphony on the European Tours in 1991, 1993 and 1997, and their South American tour in 1992. Currently she is the principal flutist of the Boston Ballet Orchestra and the Boston Classical Orchestra, and often plays for the Broadway shows that come in to Boston. Her most recent performances include Romeo and Juliet with the Boston Ballet, and the musical Wicked at the Opera House.
