Presenting a preview of their 2007-2008 season, Straight from the Heart, including selections from Puccini’s beloved La boheme, Donizetti’s charming L’elisir d’amore and Mozart’s comedy, The Abduction from the Seraglio. Boston Lyric Opera is New England’s most popular opera company. Founded in 1976, BLO has built a reputation for identifying and featuring emerging operatic talent in its artistically excellent productions. Its main stage productions at the Citi Shubert Theatre, live broadcasts on WGBH radio and its traveling production of a fully staged one-hour English version of a popular opera for schools and families reach some 200,000 people a year.
