As we prepare to celebrate our centennial in 2011, ANMS is poised to transform our building into a 21st century teaching facility that fosters superior educational, programming and performance opportunities.

About the Renovation Project

This is an exciting time to be part of All Newton Music School. We are celebrating 100 years of upholding our mission,"Music for All ". The students, families, board, corporators, board emeritus and dedicated faculty join together making this the special place it is today.

Our 113 year old building is in much need of updating and repairs. This page will explain our Building Renovation Project and direct you to the many ways you can contribute, " playing your part " in our next 100 years of bringing music to Newton and surrounding communities.

I encourage you to make yourself familiar with this project. ANMS has studied our building needs in great detail. We will schedule renovations only when we have raised the funds for each project. I hope that you will be compelled to help us revitalize our beautiful building. Thank you for being a member of the All Newton Music School family.

-Paulette Bowes, ANMS Director

Why Now?

Our current facility, purchased in 1965, originally served 300 students. Today, more than 1,400 students compete for limited space. Despite increasing demand, phyiscal limitations of our existing facilities continually hamper programming and innovation - the lifeblood of music education. Our traffic master plan must be redesigned for the safety of our constituents. Aging mechanical systems that have served our building for 51 years are nearing the end of their useful life. Classroom space needs reconfiguration, soundproofing and improved ventilation to allow for increased programming and more effetive studio use.

Please check with your HR department to see if your company allows matching gifts for capital projects.

Q: Will the architectural integrity of the building be jeopardized?
