The Andrew Wolf Concert Series recognizes the contributions of the late pianist Andrew Wolf. All Newton Music School Director from 1977-1985, Andrew Wolf brought enthusiasm and energy to the School and all the people involved with it.
His greatest attribute was his ability to bring people together in work, music and friendship. He was an ambassador for whatever mission he was on. Andrew Wolf helped ANMS define its goals and look to the future.
Violinist Joseph Silverstein inaugurated the Benefit Concert Series in 1971. Andrew Wolf expanded the series with performers such as cellists Leonard Rose and Yo Yo Ma, clarinetists Richard Stoltzman and the late Harold Wright, pianist Peter Serkin and a world premiere by composer Peter Lieberson.
Inspired by Andy's spirit, musicianship and love of people, the concert series had enjoyed 34 successful years. The high quality of acclaimed musicians that donate their talents to benefit ANMS is a wonderful reminder of Andy's dedication to our community. |
The Silverstein Benefit Concert was just the beginning.
If you were fortunate enough to attend our Benefit concert with Joseph Silverstein, you know the high caliber of musicians we present. The rest of our season is no different.
We have always taken great pride in our Wolf Series musicians. These artists represent the highest quality musicians in New England and beyond.
Our facilities at ANMS gives the audience unprecedented access to these musicians...you can be as close as five feet and experience these musicians up close and personal. Nowhere else in the Boston area can you see and experience these world-class musicians in this intimate setting. |
